Politico-Economic Environment

digitalswitzerland is helping to ensure that the potential of digital technology is better used across all areas. We raise the awareness of policy-makers and the government for issues affecting the digital industry.

Political framework

Digitization is a transversal issue and is a crucial factor in areas ranging from health policy and security policy to media and financial policy. Therefore, a technology-savvy view of all dossiers and an open dialog across the various disciplines are necessary. digitalswitzerland is actively involved in ensuring that the opportunities and challenges of digitization are recognized and taken into account in the legislative process. We moderate between economy, politics, administration and academia.

Key Messages

Key Messages

Take a position

In the realm of digital topics and where useful and necessary, digitalswitzerland takes a public position on the ongoing political discourse.

YES to the e-ID law on 7 March

On 7 March 2021, we will vote on the e-ID law, which will create the legal basis for a state-approved and verified Swiss e-ID (electronic identity). The e-ID is important because more and more people, authorities, associations and companies are moving online and rely on a doubtless and regulated identification on the Internet. That is why digitalswitzerland, supported by associations such as the Association of Municipalities and Cities, the Association of Public Transport, economiesuisse, the Trade Association or as well eGov Switzerland, is leading the YES campaign for the Swiss e-ID.

The Public Affairs Committee

In the Public Affairs Committe, members of digitalswitzerland have the chance to actively take part in political debates by participating in consultations and addressing parliament in the form of letters or discussions. Our goal is to adapt framework conditions to regulatory procedures to promote digital transformation and strengthen Switzerland as a key location to invest. digitalswitzerland is the main contact for politics and administration for digitization issues.

Political statements

Digitization is the driving force for innovation in the economy and society. Since the merger with ICTswitzerland, digitalswitzerland also campaigns in cooperation with the parliamentary business initiative ePower for a strong digital Switzerland in the political arena.
